From Potty Training to Food Apps

Over at Kelly's Korner, it is Show Us Your Life-Favorite Apps! I thought this would be a fun link up since I seem to be in a blogging rut, though I do have a couple of posts up my sleeve!

I try not to have A TON of apps flooding my phone screen, it just gets to be a little overwhelming and well sometimes they just don't get used! So, drumroll please for my favorite apps...in no particular order:

1. Potty Time

I am currently in the middle of this journey called, potty training! This app offers a game, a story to read, virtual sticker chart, a potty training song as well as a phone call for successes and accidents!

My little guy loves this app and it makes the time go by faster!

2. PepperPlate

So simple to use for creating my grocery list by category or shopping aisle however I prefer! I can also use it to create my menu and I can use the planner to record my menu! As I get my grocery items I simply check them off the list and they disappear-no more paper lists that I always seem to forget anyway!

3. PhotoMarkr

Not that I have any stalkers reading my blog; but since I post pics of my family I like to protect those pictures with a watermark. I finally found this one that I can create a watermark for my phone pictures and it is SUPER easy to use!

4. RoadAhead

Over the years we have traveled A LOT and that is no understatement. This app searches for you on the road and then tells you what is at the next exit! You can choose what you want it to find for you at the next exit. I have mine set to find restaurants, gas stations and lodging! It also tells you how far it is to the next exit as well as how far your choice is!

5. Pic Jointer

I love taking photos with my phone and sometimes I take several of the same pose of Klayton, however, his expressions seem to change....SO, with this app I can make a collage to save to my phone or to send to my friends!

6. Pinterest

I don't think an explanation is needed!

10 on Tuesday

1. So proud of myself, I cooked dinner for the whole family last night and it cost me $6! We had grilled steak, corn on the cob and mashed potatoes! Yummy!
2. Yesterday my Grandpa was in a motorcycle accident. That was scary to hear about. He should be released from the hospital tomorrow and I am sure he will be in lots of pain.

3. I enjoy going to the Farmers Market in the summer time. I was anxious to check out the Farmers Market here, what a bust! Only a few tables did I see and no veggies or fruit...
4. You know you live in a small town when: you go to the grocery store to scope out if anything is on sale so you can bake, the owner and cashier scurry to the front waiting for you to come up with your purchases. Sadly, nothing is on sale ;but you now feel obligated to purchase something as you are the only shopper in the store. So, $1.29 later and 2 drinks you come out with nothing to bake...
5. I am proud to say that Klayton was accident free today! Finally, a successful potty training day is in the books!
6. Still unsure about how I feel upon hearing someone refer to my child as a, head banger.
7. I have really enjoyed participating in the summer reading program at our library with Klayton. To date we have read 51 books!
8. Spurs, Bruins, Heat and Blackhawks...do those names mean anything to you?
9. This was our Father's Day project with Joseph on Sunday! Love how it turned out!

It's Potty Time

Is there life outside of potty training? If so I don't have much recollection of it...Tuesday I started potty training Klayton.

What made me start? 1.) On occasion when he needs a diaper change he will indicate it to me. 2.) If I or Joseph makes indication that we need to visit the bathroom he will show us to the bathroom, point to the toilet and leave us to do our business.
My plan of attack:
Day 1: literally pump the kid full of water! The morning was not very successful; but when he woke up from nap to bed time he only had 2 accidents.
Day 2: My child decided he would not drink ANY water! He also decided that sitting on the toilet was the most horrible thing in the world. We had success as well as many failures.
Day 3: We decided that if we were going to do this there would be no turning back. At nap time Klayton threw a fit about wearing a diaper. So I did what I said I would never do...I bought pull ups.
Day 4: No accidents all morning long. So, we became brave and took Klayton into town. While in town he had only 1 accident; but I think it was because it was kind of overwhelming for him in the public bathroom. He also made it through nap time DRY- huge success! All in all on this day there were only 2 accidents! Woohoo!
And today is day 5! Only 1 accident thus far and he made it through nap time dry once again! I think we're getting somewhere.

I am realizing this may be a very slow process as well as a lot of work. We take him every ten minutes. I think he is finally getting to the point of realizing what he's about to do on the potty because he will begin to clap before he begins the deed, now if he would just realize this while he's busy playing! Thankfully there are Reese Pieces to get me by as I reward myself and him for every success!

10 on..TueWednesday

1. Excited to have my nephew David and his parents come for a visit tomorrow!
2. Excited for my sister and husband as they announced their baby news!
3. Proud of my little my boy who is beginning to really grasp the concept of potty training!
4. I really want to do a little baking! I think I will try something from Pinterest!
5. Really need some September Scentsy parties. Anyone interested in hosting an online party?! Or if you live near me hosting a home party? It WILL be SO MUCH FUN!
6. I seriously am having a hard time believing its going to be almost a hundred outside today. Thankfully, Klayton and I were able to enjoy some sun before it became scorching.
7. Last week I bought some new foundation. It's all natural/organic foundation from Origins at Younkers! I really like it and am slowly making the switch over to their whole makeup line!
8. Really in the mood to do some scrapbooking...maybe I should finish my honeymoon scrapbook!
9. Kind of in the mood to haul out my fall decorations!
10. Well, normally this is where I would say, Happy Tuesday; but it's not Tuesday! Ha! Happy Wednesday!
