1. Tonight is my Celebrating Home party, hoping for lots of guests and to have a $300 party! If anyone wants to help me with my goal, leave a comment with your email and I will send you the link.
2. I use Klayton as my alarm clock on weekdays, today there was no need as it was between 7 and 730 when commercial lawn mowers were heard outside my window...ugh. Seriously, couldn't they have waited to do their job until Klayton woke up??
3. My first small change towards weight loss this week? No more eating after 8 p.m.
4. Got my hair cut, colored last week and I love it! And the girl I went to even taught me how to do it...I'm horrible at doing hair and now I just might know what I'm doing!
5. Do you ever get home from grocery shopping just to realize all the other things you needed and didn't get? I hate that!
6. I've been itching to scrapbook, so I got all my stuff last night and ended up with a brain freeze. When the ice melts, I hope a creative idea will come knocking.
7. What are your plans for Independence Day? We usually do something low key as a family...I hope Klayton likes fireworks!
8. um, hello number 8 I don't have any random thoughts for you and really doubt I have any for 9 and 10 as well.
9. Klayton loves to pull himself into a standing position with our help. Its funny because when he acts lazy and we go to help him into a sitting position he tricks us and pulls himself into a standing position.
10. Pray for my cousin Daniele as she heals from fracturing her spine. And pray for my moms cousin, Linda as she is in her final days. Pray for comfort.

Grocery Shopping
My favorite grocery store in Sioux Falls is HyVee on 57th and Cliff not only because of their great customer service; but because of these handy carts that my baby loves to ride in and he just looks SO cute doing so!

However, I do think if I'm not careful he might just start helping himself to some potato chips while shopping-if he could just figure out how to get them open!

8 Months
Klayton you are 8 months old!
(Look at that tongue!)

You:
*Wear size 3 diapers.
*Are in 6-12 month clothing.
*Have 4 teeth and currently working on at least one more.
*Love to stick out your tongue.
*Love peaches.
*Love to play the piano on the IPAD.
*Love music in general-you are always dancing to it whether its Sweet Hour of Pray or a random upbeat song.
*Love to eat in your bouncer.
*Take everything in, very observant.
*Are starting to reach out when you want to be held.
*Got your first freckle.
*Finally are getting the hang of eating. You don't always lock your jaw or hold your gums/teeth shut so I can't get the spoon through anymore.
*You chatter ALL. THE. TIME.
*You love riding in the "mini" shopping cart at the grocery store, in the top basket if it.
*You love to cuddle when you are sleeply or at random moments throughout the day and mama cherishes every one of those moments.

This month:
You had your first injury that caused you to bleed. You were sitting on daddys lap at his desk and leaned very quickly to far forward causing you to hit your mouth on the desk. This caused a little bleeding on your top gums.
You choked a little on a piece of Gerber Puffs that caused you to vomit. Poor Baby.

Dear BabyLove,
Once again I am sitting here wondering where the time has gone? Time is seriously moving to quickly for me, leaving me trying to soak it all in yet feeling as if I have only just begun to soak it. I'm here with tears in my eyes once again...whenever you see me crying over you, you probably are thinking, "what a weirdo!" But, my love, those are tears of complete awe and wonderment over the gift that God has given me in you! I constantly marvel at His goodness!
Sometimes I have to stop what I am doing and watch you chew on your tan pound puppy's ear! I don't know what it is about that that tan puppy; but you are constantly putting his ear in your mouth! Or I just have to watch you lay on the floor, pulling your blanket over face and just start laughing and dancing...but because I'm paranoid I have to come take that blanket or cloth book off your face to make sure you take time to breath! When I do that you just look at me with the biggest, cutest smile and I fall deeper in love once again. I love you more today babylove, than I did yesterday...thanks for loving me back!
Always with Love, Mama

1. Klayton is 8 months today...only 4 more months until his 1st birthday and I have a feeling its going to go fast.
2. I sold my first piece of jewelry this past Sunday and I have a promise of sale for another piece! Yay!
3. I'm so excited to bee getting my hair done today-its much needed.
4. We had quite the storm last night that even caused our power to go out for a while.
5. One more week until my celebrating home party...comment with your email address if you would like to view a catalog...or if you want to come from wherever you are! Whether it 5 or 500 miles I'm sure the drive will be worth it and you will have lots of fun!
6. I. Must. Take. 8 month. Pictures. Today.
7. So, I gotta admit I love playing NBA Jam with my husband on the wii...I usually play as Wade and my personal goal in each game? See how many times I can push my opponent! Ha!
8. Note to self: there are grapes in the fridge and they are much healthier to eat then milkshakes.
9. Last week, with groceries including meat and other perishables our van decided to die. Apparently, it was the alternator and thankfully was fixed. Un-thankfully lots of groceries had to be thrown away.
10. I think Joseph had a good first fathers day! We bought him a new putter, golf glove, golf balls and took him to Chilis for lunch! Klayton loves his daddy!

Giveaway
I have spent quite a bit of time working on my jewelry making skills this past week and I'm having so much fun doing it. Over on Kellys blog its Show us your life friday and shes featuring what people sell or make. As I continue to make jewelry and hopefully get better and better at it...I would like to use this skill as an avenue to make some extra cash. But, I realize that there are, many people who share this same desire, so I need to start getting my name out there now. I have already selected a business name, Girl on the Go Fashion Jewelry & Accessories! I am also in the midst of building a website for it as well. Right now I only have a facebook page for it and some pictures. All you would have to do is tell me what you, have in mind, send me a picture of the dresses and we could go from there! My business email address is, girlonthegofashionista@gmail.com.
But for now let me showcase my piece that I am giving away!

My 5k
I am still alive and thankful that I did not have a heart attack after the 5k for the Washington Pavilion this past Saturday, June 4th! Lets recap Saturday!

Here is my 5k companion, Jessica and I! Stretching and maybe a little nervous as we think about what we are about to do; but excited!

The race is getting ready to start and we have decided we probably should have just done the 10 block walk! Lol!

Here we go…just hoping to not be last!

And, 45:48 later here I am! Just crossed the finish line! 31st out of 117 in my division! And Jessica finished about 10 seconds before me!

Cheers! We survived and we didn’t finish last! Yay!

And, of course our finish wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t get a picture with our favorite baby boy!

Jessica and Klayton are buddies!

So, is another 5k in our future? That is yet to be determined!

Happy Mothers Day
Um, yes I'm wishing you a Happy Mothers Day a few weeks late. I've been wanting to do this post for a while, there is so much to say about this day. Let me begin by telling you about my Mothers Day.
Joseph and Klayton bought me a Mothers ring and I love it! This ring was made to be stackable, so next baby God gives us I can get another ring and just add it to my finger! The reason we did this is that when I die I can leave the ring to my children. Now obviously Klayton isn't going to wear it; but I pray that I will one day have a good relationship with his wife and I can leave it to her to wear. After church my boys took me to lunch at The Outback and it was yummy. Then we went down to Iowa and surprised my mom by spending the rest of the day with her. It was a wonderful day!
Now, let me get to the sappy part of this post. For some ladies Mothers Day can bring a little "controversy" to the heart. Its a day that reminds them of their inability to concieve a child, a day that reminds them of the death of a child that is not here to celebrate with them it is a day that reminds them of the gift that they long for and they have no answer as to why God is asking them to wait. For ladies that have never been a part of any of those three instances, you will never understand how this day effects them and to be honest I am thankful that there are some who have been spared from these feelings. Its a day that should be celebrated and in spite of "controversy of the heart" ladies who are in those instances agree with the celebration of Mothers Day. I speak from both sides of the fence.
I still remember like it was yesterday, the day we decided we wanted to start our family. I remember thinking in just a couple of months I would have a baby in my tummy. I remember talking about the baby names we liked or didn't like...there were so many dreams forming in our hearts for the baby that would soon be in my tummy. Weeks started to pass, then weeks into months passed and still no baby in my tummy. I remember sitting in church on Mothers Day of 2009 and the choir singing about a Mothers heart, my heart strings were being pulled and the tears were puddled in my eyes as I thought about how thankful I was for my mom; but as I also wondered if I would ever be celebrated as a mom. We soon hit the year mark of waiting and we were at my parents preaching conference that is held at their church every year. A group from the college I attended was there singing, one of the songs they sang was A Greater Yes and that became my song. (The song is on my previous post, I found that version on youtube sung by another college group, feel free to click on the post and let it play while you finish reading this current post) The song spoke of praying with believing and I really believed that the nights I cried upon my husbands chest, nights that I cried out to God that I believed that He could give me a child in my tummy and I did believe that there must be a greater yes in my life. And I was sure it was just right around the corner...but once again months passed and my greater yes was nowhere in sight. February of 2010 had now made its appearance and I learned once again of another friend that was pregnant. I remember that night like it was yesterday: we were at my grandparents when I heard the good news and as my heart instantly sank, I was mad at myself because I really did want to be excited for her and yet all I could do was cry. I remember crying out to the Lord, I had reached the bottom of my barrel, I was done trying and I needed the Lord to rescue me from that pit. As I gave the desire completely to the Lord, I remember a sense of helplessness overwhelming me as I realized that it was no longer my battle to fight if that meant there was just months more of trying, or years that would turn into God taking my desire to carry a baby in my tummy away. What I didn't know at the was as I was giving my desire for a baby to the Lord, He was molding my Klayton Matthew in my tummy. Just a couple weeks later we learned I was pregnant.
As Mothers Day approached this year I was so excited and thankful that I could be honored as a mommy. But, truthfully I don't need a day to feel honored to be Klaytons mommy, I feel honored every day and I thank the Lord every day that I GET to be a mommy because I've learned that we don't all get to be mommies, we don't all have the same task. I choose to be thankful for dirty diapers because there is someone wishing that she had a dirty diaper to change.
