Um...not Tuesday

So, this should be my ten on Tuesday post; but frankly, I can't even begin to think up ten random thoughts! Ha! Things have been extremely busy...we have spent our weekend moving from our town home to a house! Moving and cleaning both places on top of chasing after a boy that is on the move has run me ragged! There is still so much to do before we leave next week for a 3 month trip! Breath in, breath out!

What I Do on a Sleepless Night

1. I play Words with Friends and hope that at least one of my opponents will still be awake.
2. I check on Klayton a gazillion times...
3. Check facebook statuses to see if anyone has updated their status from 5 minutes ago.
4. I think about how hungry I am, the better word would be starved.
5. I visit the restroom every 10 minutes.
6. Catch up on all the blogs I read.
7. Think evil thoughts about my husband sleeping leaving me wide awake and bored.
8. Think about what I want to wear.
9. Imagine a skinnier version of me as I battle my sub conscious of wanting to remain a chunky monkey.
10. Close my eyes for random periods of time hoping they will stay that way until morning.

10 on Tuesday

1. Started the day off by taking Klayton for a walk with my friend Heather and her little boy! We walked for almost 2 hours and hopefully sweated some calories off.
2. Came home and have been packing all day...I hate packing.
3. Just realized that I haven't shared the news, were moving! An opportunity has presented itself that is allowing us to move into a house!
4. Even better than just living in a house is that we will be living there for much less than what we are.spending now, just the cost of utilities! How awesome is that?? God is good!
5. In just a few weeks we will be back on the road traveling again.
6. Yesterday I got my hair cut and colored...I love it! Kudos to Crystal at NeZhoni here in Sioux Falls! She does great work!
7. So, its August and its still so stinking hot. Ugh!
8. Last week I discovered the joy of shopping at a farmers market! We bought yummy sweet corn and banana peppers...which I can never find in the grocery store! I also bought some juicy cantaloupe! Love it!
9. Weird kid story: There was a knock on our door and Joseph peeked out the peep hole. It was a boy that lives a few town houses down from us. Joseph waited a second and opened the door...the boy had put a snake on our door step and then proceeded to tell us he didn't know how it got there; but it doesn't bite. Kids these days!
10. So, I don't really feel like cooking tonight; but its cheaper then eating out.
Happy Tuesday!

10 Months

Klayton you are 10 months...seriously, this is very crazy.

This month:
*visited New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and New Hampshire!
*went to a birthday party for the first time, it was Colin Van Zees 4th birthday.
*was introduced to stage 3 foods
*started mixing whole milk with your formula
*started crawling

You:
*wear size 3 diapers
*wear 6-9, 6-12 and straight 9 month clothing
*take 2, one hour naps a day
*fall asleep for the night around 8, waking at 10 for a bottle or snack and then sleep until anywhere from 7:30-9:00
*love to stand and think that everyone should help you with that
*pull yourself up in your crib all the time
*love to wave...you won't wave to anyone but yourself
*love to walk, with our assistance of course
*your mouth is always hanging open...sometimes you will stick your tongue out
*are in the stage of being clingy to mommy and daddy
*your independence is shining through more and more...with that comes stubbornness
*love dogs
*we could put all your toys in front of you and a piece of paper, you will choose to play with the paper every time
*love to explore your surroundings, your eyes are always searching

Dear Klayton,
It kind of makes me sad that your first birthday is just around the corner. You are growing to fast for your mama...I know that just means more fun. However, it also means your baby days will soon be over.
One of my favorite things is when you put your forehead and nose to mine and stare into my eyes while we rub noses! How did you get to be so sweet? I find myself saying this a lot; but God really did know what I needed when He brought you into our lives. I can always count on you to give me a smile, snuggle close or whatever when I need it. This month, while traveling we made a stop and this lady started oohing over you and talking to you. You gave her the biggest smile, when you did that she said, "thank you, you literally made my day and let me have a piece of joy!" And Klayton, you bring me and daddy joy every day!
I love you!
Love, Mama

Awake

And the brief minute of silence is over. Its 12:30 a.m. and I'm awake with Klayton who doesn't want to sleep in his crib tonight. The poor guy, just keeps crying in hope that I will rescue him. But, I can't because if I do that means he wins. I have rubbed his back, sang to him, kissed him and I'm now even sitting in his room so that he sees mama is here...but the cries of stubbornness continue. Apparently this is what the stubbornness of two people produce! Lol. Klaytons stubborn streak is beginning to show and were ready to nip it....

10 on Tuesday

1. Yay, for phones with internet access! We are currently in Ohio traveling to Michigan from New Hampshire!
2. I have not slept good the last couple of nights. So frustrating. Klayton had been sleeping good for me and now the last 2 nights he wakes before 4 a.m. wanting to play and have attention. It would be one thing if I could catch some shut eye before he wakes...
3. Have you ever heard of Tim Hortons? My husband loves their iced cappuccino! So, yes we have stopped several times during this trip to fulfill his addiction! At least his addiction is something I like as well!
4. Its hard to believe but I'm thinking about Klaytons first birthday! In just a little over 2 months it will be here! We bought him his birthday present yesterday! A Radio Flyer Stroll and Go bike! Its a tricycle that allows us to push him until he figures out the pedal, then we take off the push handle and he will have a tricycle!
5. Can I just tell you how ridiculous toll roads are? Yesterday we spent $15 just in New York! We could have bought 2 meals from Mcdonalds for that.
6. We had a great time in New Hampshire! One of the fun things we did was visit Mount Washington Hotel! Side note, mosquitos are HUGE in New Hampshire!
7. Klayton is becoming extremely active! He doesn't crawl yet but he manages to get around and we can't take our eyes off him for even a minute!
8. I would like to post pics but I forgot to bring the card that would allow me to transfer my pics from camera to the laptop. I know a blog without pics is boring.
9. Please pray for Kacey Guy, he was born a week ago this past Saturday. Quickly after he was born, they discovered something was wrong. He has a rare heart problem. He needs open heart surgery and that will probably happen sometime next week. He was transferred to Little Rock where a surgeon is willing to perform the surgery. Pray for the surgeon as well.
10. Well, I did it...I completed another random Tuesday post! Happy Tuesday!

A Special Moment

This past week we dealt with Klayton being constipated-poor guy. We blame the new formula and all the bananas he has been eating. Anyway, every night before bed we pray together as a family. Klayton even prays, of course were saying the words! But still, its a very special and important time of day as a family. So Thursday, his prayer went something like this, "Dear Jesus, Thank you for daddy. Thank you for mommy. Please help me not to be constipated. I love you Jesus, Amen". As he prayed for his constipation...guess what? His prayer was immediately answered! Joseph and I cheered and told Klayton that God answered his prayer and we then offered up a prayer of thankfulness for answered prayer! Its never to early to teach our kids how to pray and that God answers prayer!
