10 on Tuesday

1. I want to say, Happy Birthday to my friend BobbiJo! She turns 30 today!
2. I have kept busy unpacking and unpacking some more. Still realizing we have so much stuff.
3. Thursday we take off to Michigan. So, in the middle of unpacking I will be packing up as well!
4. Klayton is doing well. Our only road block still to conquer is his new room. He doesn't like to go to bed alone and wakes up in the night.
5. I really am tired, yet here I am in the night blogging.
6. Our van had to go see the mechanic. Because of this we have a "loaner"-a brand new truck! Needless to say, we took it out for a spin last night.
7. I'm learning, "you don't have to have it all figured out to move forward".
8. I've neglected my Scentsy biz as of late. Anyone in need of any Scentsy? Comment for information and for a good deal!
9. Another lesson I'm learning, do not let the opinions of others consume you. Usually, when a person has an opinion about you they have already made up their mind and there's no changing it.
10. Have a Happy Tuesday and don't live in the past it can't be changed now.

10 on Tuesday

1. Seriously, I need to be a better blogger. I commit to blog on Thursday and Saturday this week.
2. Currently, in Edmond, Oklahoma!
3. I have been able to spend time with my brother and his wife. Right now Joseph and my brother are outside hitting golf balls.
4. This past weekend we stopped in at a supporting church and I was able to see my friend Laura! I might one day be "related" to her through the marriage of our children!
5. My mind is at a complete blank as to today's date. I think Klayton is going to be 17 months this week!
6. I've been consistently losing weight, until this week. I am so disappointed I haven't lost a pound since my last weigh in.
7. This weeks agenda, work on name tags for ladies retreat and start memorizing the skit!
8. Going to go window shop at the outlet mall this afternoon. Therefore, it will probably rain as it usually does when we visit outlet malls.
9. I've been doing lots of reading about Norway. Interesting fact: Women that work get one year off for maternity leave!
10. Sometimes these random thoughts on Tuesday give me a headache. However, it's the only post that I'm consistent with from week to week.

MIA-Travel Tips

As I stated yesterday, I've been missing in action on my blog. I just have a lot of things going on in my life that I can't talk about and therefore, I just don't know what to write about. But, here I am....
We are back on the road and are currently driving to Texas where we have a meeting in Lubbock tomorrow. I am no pro at this thing called, "traveling with a 15 month old". But, I thought it might be fun to share some tips for traveling with a baby or a toddler. Most people cringe at the thought of taking a vacation by car with an infant because it may not feel like a vacation. We have been traveling with Klayton since he was 3 weeks old, so he definitely knows what it means when he gets into his carsear! Without further ado, in no particular order:
•When putting an infant/toddler into their carseat for a long period of time, remove their coat or jacket. They are already going to feel constrained and a bulky coat doesn't help.
•If you make a stop, whether it just be to get gas let them get out of their carseat.
•Have a snack and a drink available. Nothing to big, especially for those little ones that are being potty trained!
•If you have access to a portable DVD player or something that can play DVDs use it to your advantage. For example when we left for a 5 hour drive last week, I was able to pop in a 'Baby Einstein' that was 40 minutes long. Klayton watched the whole thing, and then napped which got him through the first half of our trip.
•If you have an only child, make time to sit in the backseat with them to keep the child company.
•If you have older children have them take turns sitting by the infant/toddler to help entertain.
•If your child has a favorite doll or bear let them hold onto it.
•Often times small toys that can be picked up quickly are great entertainment.
•When traveling for several days in a row try to make the first day your longest travel day.
•Listen to books on tape or fun, peppy music!
•Be sure the vehicle temperature is comfortable.
