Cherry Limeade

One of my favorite treats is going to Happy Hour at Sonic! I love their cherry coke; but I also love their cherry limeade! On pinterest, I found a sweet Cherry Limeade concoction!
You need: 1 two liter Sprite, 1 ten ounce jar of maraschino cherries and 1 can frozen limeade! Simply mix ingredients and enjoy! It was very refreshing and yummy!

10 on Tuesday

1. I am claiming these verses today, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:" Isaiah 26:3-4
2. This afternoon I was able to have lunch with my Pastor's wife and daughter, so fun!
3. When I came home from lunch I initiated, Operation: Get This House in Order! Its amazing how quick a mess can be made.
4. Still no snow in the forecast and this makes my husband very sad.
5. Any New Year Celebrations planned? How about a New Years Resolution? We will probably just stay home and enjoy time as a family. And a New Years Resolution, yeah right! If I don't have the determination to change something now it will probably stay that way..
6. Does anyone else have a problem losing baby socks?! I tell you, it seems I can buy Klayton a new package of 6 socks and within a week we only have one pair that hasn't been lost.
7. I might have mentioned this last week; but I will say it again...I am addicted to pinterest.com! So many neat ideas!
8. My brother and his wife bought us a little thing that makes donut holes and cake pops! So neat! I used it the other day instead of making a regular cake and made cake holes...it gives you the impression that it is not as fatting as a piece of cake.
9. I don't know why; but I found this funny. Yesterday we were at the mall. I overheard a conversation where a man was asked, "What year did you graduate?" His reply, "1995, or actually in 95ish."
10. Well, I think Klayton is trying to sneak up the stairs and that means I must sign off, Happy Tuesday!

Christmas Day

Do you remember those days where you went to bed excited for Christmas morning, it took forever to fall asleep yet you were the first one awake? Well, I'm 29 and I am still this way...needless to say Joseph and I were both up this morning WAITING for Klayton to wake up!

Klayton woke up around 8:45, we hurried downstairs to read the Christmas story, open gifts, enjoy orange rolls for breakfast and head to church for Christmas morning services.

When we came home today we enjoyed our traditional Christmas dinner: Apple and Onion Chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and rolls!

After dinner the rest of our day was spent in our pajamas, watching movies and relaxing as a family!

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and in spite of all the commercialism and gift receiving that you took time to celebrate HIM!

Christmas Eve

This rarely happens, a picture with me in it! Yay! And you will notice several others throughout this post! Were all dressed up to go to church for a Christmas Eve service!

After the candlelight service, we came home and opened our stockings! This year we all got new stockings! The "boys" have sports themed ones and I have a snowman stocking!

One of my favorite memories this year is holding Klayton in my lap as he opened his stocking stuffers!

And Klayton and I enjoyed watching daddy open his stocking stuffers!

I love Christmas and this year I was reminded to be thankful that I have THIS Christmas with my boys!

Christmas With Family

Yes, I am doing several posts on Christmas! I just have so many pictures and things to write about and decided I might be able to keep your interest longer if I break it up into several "shorter" posts!
My parents, brother, his wife and my brother in law all came up for Christmas Eve Day...my sister sadly had to work. Normally everyone comes on Christmas Day; but with this being on a Sunday this year it didn't work. So, they all came up and we spent the day eating homemade pizza, snacking on strawberry cream cheese balls and toffee balls. We also did some gift exchanging!

Klayton quickly got the art of opening presents down and had to help Grandma out! After all the present was from him, a Grandma cup with hot chocolate and a chocolate spoon! I'm sure she will think of him everytime she drinks from the cup!

Daddy, didn't need any help opening his games and gift cards to Olive Garden!

Now that I think about it, Klayton only helped those receiving presents from him! Because here he is helping Grandpa!

Opening presents is hard work! Good thing Aunt Brandy was up from Oklahoma so Klayton could catch some shut eye!

And, who knew the day wasn't even half over!

New Christmas Traditions

I really want to teach Klayton that Christmas IS about Jesus and His birth. I don't want his first thought to be Santa Claus or presents...by the way we don't do Santa, in case you are wondering! Anyway, this year we decided to make a birthday cake for Jesus and sing Happy Birthday to Him on Christmas day! So, last night Klayton and I made a birthday cake...

Yes, Klayton doesn't seem to interested in the baking part!

But, I'm hoping as years go on that its a tradition we will continue together!

We enjoyed the cake today, it was yummy; but I didn't get any pictures!

Oh Christmas Tree

This past weekend I found this idea on Pinterest and thought it would be fun to do with Klayton and maybe he will let me do it with him for the next few years to come for Christmas!
Oh Christmas Tree, you are going to be beautiful!

Different from all the others.

Because this one is hand painted with love.

Etched with little footprints.

That will let Mommy and Daddy reminisce about these days, this Christmas as the years go by.

A Kitchen Story

There was a little boy, named Klayton...

He loved playing in the kitchen cupboards,

and drawers.

He just never knew what he might find in a drawer,

and there were so many drawers to choose from.

He especially enjoyed digging for buried treasure.

He never knew what he might find...

And when Klayton didn't find what he was looking for, he still kept his smile..

And simply moved on to another drawer.

Unfortunately, the story ends here as he found a no-no drawer and his mommy decided the pictures should stop and the mess must be cleaned.

10 on Tuesday

1. Between keeping Klayton off the stairs, Klayton emptying out my kitchen cupboards, Klayton opening presents under the Christmas tree...I have been very busy!
2. Yesterday we took Klayton for his one year wellness check...yes two months after his first birthday! He weighed in at 20 lbs (5th percentile) and measured at 30 inches (33rd percentile)! I really thought he would weigh more, he has been quite the lug! I guess he keeps his skinny figure by being so active...
3. This past weekend my sister and her husband came up to do Christmas. We had pizza, opened presents, did a little shopping, watched a movie, went to church and enjoyed Sunday lunch with them...it was great! Unfortunately, I may not have cooked enough food on Sunday and let them leave still hungry...oops.
4. I have so much to get done and no energy. Ugh! I hate knowing my things to do list keeps growing and growing as I sit here being a bum...yes a bum. May I tell you I didn't even get out of my pajamas today; but in my defense I did manage to get a load in the dishwasher!
5. You know that yearly Christmas letter...there won't be one this year. I guess for now it will have to be bi-yearly...maybe I should start working on 2012's letter????
6. Christmas will soon be here! Its my favorite time of year! I'm really excited for my brother and his wife to be coming for Christmas this year! And, I really can't wait to see his wife's baby bump!
7. I'm in the mood for a nice cup of hot chocolate, to bad I don't have everything I need for it because I make a mean cup of hot cocoa!
8. FYI, in case you didn't know...for the month of December at Subway you can get either a 6 inch meatball or 6 inch cold cut for $2!
9. I'm in the mood for a Christmas movie...do you have a favorite?
10. I have two blog posts in the making to help make up for my quietness on here of late! Happy Tuesday!

10 on Tuesday-Christmas Wish List

All I Want for Christmas:

1. Gift card to New York and Company, Kohls or Penneys. Then I can do some guilt free shopping for me!
2. Cash so I can get my hair colored!
3. Snowman decorations.
4. A straw cup, you know those cups with a plastic straw that can't be pulled through...one with a cute design.
5. Cricut Cartridges.
6. Cream or brown chair covers for the 4 chairs around my dining room table. Covers that cover the whole chair.
7. Bumble bee decorations.
8. God to answer 3 major prayer requests...
9. Knee high socks and over the knee socks, preferably argyle.
10. And finally, peace on earth and goodwill toward all men! Lol! Maybe jewelry beads.

• Working on this Christmas list was tough...when I was a kid I didn't even have to think twice about what would be on my wish list!

Bedtime Adventures

We have a tradition in our family to sleep under the lights of the Christmas tree at least once during the Christmas season.  So, last night we made a huge pallet on the living room floor and snuggled in as a family. What a sweet time together, yet I don't see us wanting to do it again this Christmas season. During the night I wake up to the sound of Klayton fussing.  I "wake up" as much as I can, considering its the middle of the night and within a minutes time I'm fully awake as I realize that my child who was snuggled next to me when we dozed off was missing.  And for that matter he couldn't even be found on our pallet; but I can still hear him fussing.  My eyes started searching the room and discovered him walking across the room! Oh my word, if he could only talk and tell me what he was doing. I quickly brought him back to the pallet and the rest of the night involved me becoming pillow less as he took over the pillow and most of my covers and being pushed into the bookcase.  Oh, the adventures of a one year old....
